I think's I will be going this route for my 3rd gen. Looks pretty stealthy in the photos I've seen when the phone mount itself is removed. Then I will 3D print accessories for it if there is something I want which does not exist yet.

If your vehicle has airbags mounted in the A-pillars it might be a potentially dangerous idea. Just something to keep in mind.

 

I think the air bags on the a pillars are up high. And from the looks of it, this thing bolts on to the "oh shit" handle screw (the lower one) so I think it might be OK.

Same, they do nothing for me. i even kept taking them long enough for them to build up results - nothing.

 

I have found Allegra is hit or miss. I honestly think they don't properly mix the ingredients before pressing them into pills.
I'll have one do absolutely nothing one day, & the next day my heart is racing like I took 2 tablets. That's happened multiple times.
The stores own brand knock-off allegra works consistently, must be made in a different factory.

I've had so many problems with app directions...
I had google take me out of my way to stop at an advertiser (who was closed) before doubling me back to my destination.
I had google so fowl things up that I swore at it & it replied 'turning off voice command' & basically shut me down. (LOL)
Waze is just a huge data hog.
Multiple times I've been traveling & would lose signal & google would just pretend everything was fine. When I realize something is very wrong I'll grill google on WTH? only to have google effectively 'oh yeah, we're offline - hell if I know. Sorry, did i not mention that?'

Like the kids today who are reverting back to cash. I study a map before i go, maybe write out some shorthand notes. Sometimes I can download the directions, sometimes they just won't or I don't have the time.

So my phone holder of choice is a coat pocket or in a knapsack. If I'm running google for redundancy, I lay the phone face down on the seat with volume on high. I'll listen to it, but when I'm driving I really focus on my driving. I don't read maps on a tiny screen & repeatedly (for me) the apps have not been dependable. Calls - forgetabout. I think I'm worth a little me time. The world can wait until I get where I'm going. To me, taking calls while you're driving says their time is more important than my time. I love driving, driving is me time. Phone & all it's apps get sequestered. Inane conversations about 'what do you want for dinner' - not happening when i'm driving.

But if you're updating your phone/car relationship, at this point I'd skip the holders & just jump to a headunit with carplay or android auto. It's just too easy to make that step to modern tech. Get your tiny phone onto a larger head unit display & add a backup camera while you're at it. Cost more than a holder, but like $10 per year to upgrade your vehicle tech by 20 years. Take a gander at Crutchfield or such.

Washing clothes then it's off to working on the truck. Hope to have my compressor fully wired, My GMRS fulled wired (need to clean up behind the kick panel) and start wiring the switches I've added to the center console.

Been reading some of the 2024 threads.
I may be due for a truck in a few years and am totally disappointed with the Xtra cab and lack of a 3rd or 4th door.
WTF are they thinking. Mine is setup with a dog platform with storage below the platform, easily accessible with the clamshell doors.
I have zero need/want for a crew cab. The AC configuration works for me. Works for the dogs too.
My old Chevy was a cab and a half and it was a royal PIA to get to the rear area.
What are they thinking? It's like a step backwards.
Guess I'll have to keep the '12 going forever.
