Elite Series Fog Lamps | Diode Dynamics

Anyone else installed these on a 2015.
Issue I had was that the mounting tabs on the fog lamp don’t line up with the foglight mounting points.
Weird that the morimoto xb that I removed for these ones was a direct fit.

Installed mine this afternoon. I love that the wire tap was included, making hooking up the amber DRL function super simple. FWIW, I was able to do the entire installation without taking anything off the truck. I literally just reached down from the top of the engine bay. Can't wait to see how these are once it gets dark later.

 

I too installed a pair or Elite amber fogs this afternoon. Similar experience as @fellow_expert. Installed from the top, though I did loosen the washer fluid reservoir to get a few more inches of working space for tapping the passenger side light. Will aim them later tonight.

Thinking about swapping out my SS3 Sports to these, but I'm curious how the amber backlights look with the 2nd Gen DRLs. Any pictures of just the backlight and DRLs to compare? My DRLs are very bright and I don't want these backlights to get lost since some people are saying they're not very bright. I might just run them without the backlight since the foglight output looks amazing.

 

If the sun is out, you cannot see the backlight at all. They are fine in dim lighting or in a garage or something, but outside during the day the backlight is useless. I wanted a demon eye kind of light but it really is just like a 1w led. I was very disappointed by this, especially with how much extra I spent on top of their fogs to make the backlight function pnp. The backlighting from my BD light bar is about 25x brighter and how I was expecting the backlight on the Elites to be. Thinking about pulling the Elites apart and seeing if I can upgrade that bulb to something useful. But backlight aside, the output from these is tremendous if you're looking for an oe-style light instead of the pod style.
