new to me 2021 tacoma. the engine sounds like a diesel engine....

Hey, tacoma bros and sis's.

Ive had my 17k 2021 (3.5l) tacoma for about 2 weeks. last week I changed the oil. it was weird. the oil filter is complex. ok. the oil is thin. ok....got the housing tool. thats fine. made a huge mess...thin oil. learning curve. allright. then I tried to check the level. the dipstick does an s curve, so thats horrible. and the oil is thin. so thats a challenge. Ill learn that. I ended up putting exactly what the amount is supposed to be, and called it good. but.

the engine, at idle...sort of has a valve chatter...reminds me of a diesel, but definately quieter. is this normal? from what I can tell on the horrible dipstick - and ive roughed it up a bit - there is plenty of oil. but does the tacoma just sort of have a bit or valve clatter due to the thin oil?

How did it sound BEFORE you changed the oil?
