Other than it likely needs to be replaced (you can see the crack in the isolator along the isolator/metal interface), it looks like a transmission mount to me. What were you expecting to see?

just didn’t know if that gap is normal. The rubber in the mount had very minimal play when I push up on the driveline at the end of the transmission.

You need to get a pry bar in there and lever things around. In general though a bit of 25 year old rubber is going to be toast.

Yea that sucker looks toasted. FYI Toyota discontinued the OEM trans mount for the 5vz w/ manual trans. If that's what your truck is, you'll have to go with an aftermarket option.

its the 3rz-fe which I still think is discontinued. So aftermarket it is.

Yea if you can get a genuine Toyota parts, I'd suggest doing so. I couldn't find one for mine anywhere and ended up going with a chincey, $5 knock off version from Rock Auto

Anyone with a first gen can you post a picture of what your transmission mount looks like compared to mine. I’d like to see some others. Thanks!

mine looks the same. There is a gap under the bolt head and the bushing. Mine has a little bit of play. I might just replace it.

I didn’t know that. That’s why I wanted pictures from others so I can compare. I just thought it looked weird.
