My cruise control isn’t working, I’ve change the cruise control switch, spiral cable, had a code for a wheel speed sensor but I replace that as well, still not working, not even illuminating

Also, I have airbag light on

Are you sure you have everything plugged in on the clockspring?
What code(s) are stored in the airbag module?

Yes everything is securely plugged in, only codes that popped up were for abs, and the evap code which is recommending I replace the charcoal canister

I noticed on the road trip home with my 2008 that I picked up a few weeks ago with 215K on it that the cruise doesn't work. Does this cable go bad? Or is it twisting and rubbing and eventually fails or something? I assume I can pull the cable and test continuity?

IDK if it’s relevant… but when i had my clutch cylinder replaced I read about a switch in the pedal connected to the cruise control.
Cruise won’t work if pedal doesn’t spring all the way back up to activate the switch.

that said, my CC sometimes refuses to turn on. Always been that way.

You'll need to list what codes for ABS and SRS (airbag).
If there is an ABS code I don't think cruise will work. Is the check engine light on?

Does the "cruise" light come on?

I am pretty sure there was a recall on the second gen spiral cable, which can cause a fire potentially. My 2007 got the recall notice.

If you were asking me, I don't have any other issues with the truck besides Cruise Control not working. No lights (other than TPMS).

Cruise Control for me simply doesn't work at all. Never have gotten the light to turn on. It's the same arm and functionality as my Sienna, so I *think* I know how to function it. Just can't get any response from it at all.

Interesting. I ran the CarFax before buying the truck recently, but I don't recall seeing that.

Carfax and others will not give the whole story of the vehicle. Did you enter the vin on Toyota's web site?

The answer is here on this site, you aren't the first to experience this issue. Try a Google search on the issue at hand and type tacomaworld after and it will bring up every thread on that topic. Gonna take some reading and time, the answer is here somewhere.;)

Appreciate it. After reading several threads, I *think* the issue is the clock spring. Doesn't seem like that difficult of a swap, just need to source the part and see.
