I've been very impressed with Kristi's Hybrid Highlander ... I think Toyota's hybrid game is on point.

 

I went down this road, letting the Prius do the driving. Occasionally touching the wheel to let it know I was still awake/alive. I couldn’t believe how well Toyota designed this thing.

Has the fuel economy stayed about the same or gone up any now that it's been broken in a little?

 

It’s consistently gotten over 50 mpg no matter what mode it’s in or the terrain. Coming down from the mountains into Death Valley it pegged out at 99.9 all the way. Never using the engine.
