Went to the Denver U-Pull & U-Pay looking for crossbars to fit on the rails on the topper. Needed something for the space booster, carrying ladders, lumber, etc. Not willing to spend $500-800 on a Thule or Yakima at this point. This may work for someone who wants to carry kayaks, an aluminum canoe, bikes, etc.

Found a rack off of a Ford Explorer that would fit with some small modifications, they charged me $23. Took it apart, narrowed the feet tabs by 1/16 ", cut the crossbars to fit, treated the towers multiple times with Adams VRT, sanded off the 2 coats of laughable paint on the aluminum crossbars and painted with 4 coats of Rust-Oleum Truck Bed Coating, installed SS M6 theft deterrent bolts.
The loading width is just about 25", so not a lot, but I am not carrying a RTT, or other overland items right now. The length spread between the crossbars can go up to about 38 in.

All in it was about $36 and a few hours of time.
