I just bought what I thought was a 2021 TRD Off Road, it has the stickers, traction control, 4x4 high/low, and the bed outlet. However on the side of the truck it says SR5 and doesn’t have lockers.

Did I just buy an SR5 with TRD Off Road stickers?

could it also be a TRD sport with TRD Off Road stickers? But doesn’t have hood scoop..

    looking for help here.

TRD Off-Road will have a button for the locker and a terrain selection knob on the roof of the cab near the windshield.

Also, a VIN check should confirm the trim level.

Based on what you've said, I would assume that you do not have a TRD off-road.

Take a pic of the exterior and the overhead console where the locker switch should be.

There is nothing on the roof besides a sunglasses holder and SOS..

The manuals don't have terrain select, but all Off-road have the rear locker. I'm betting it's the SR5, but running the VIN will verify that. Sorry bud

Do you have a manual? Where did you buy this truck? Private party? Dealer? So many questions...

Sounds like an SR5. The OR MT has a button for Atrac and another for the locker on the overhead.

I was going to suggest this but when I check my vin on a few sights; NHTSA, some random others, just say SR5 (which the OR is) but no reference to being an OR, which mine is. Is there a specific website that'll specify OR or the other trim levels? I also checked Toyota, only the app specifies OR.

Bought it from a dealer that had it labeled as a TRD OFF Road. Checking the VIN has it listed as an SR5.

Just a few accessories, mud flaps, bed cover , racks, seat covers, ….

If this is what you have , it is a SR5.

They are telling me now that’s it’s an SR5 Trail edition, yet it doesn’t have the lockable bed storage.

It was pre owned, and the owner did add a lot of additional parts. Wondering if he added the TRD labels and then the dealer sold it as a TRD to mark up the price…

If it doesn't have a locker, it's not a trail edition...

Message me the VIN and I can decode it on the internal Toyota page.

It's a trail edition! Good news!

It had the trail boxes but the previous owner may have had them swapped out or removed. I've never seen them in person, but it was sold with it.

It has tech package as well. It's a good find.

If that's true, that's pretty f*cked. You might have a case of getting some money back. Pretty sure Toyota corporate would help you come down on these guys. They don't like their dealerships doing shady stuff. Hope it works out for you. At the worst, you still got a good and capable truck if the price was right.

I work at Toyota, I can run the VIN and tell you exactly what you have.

Looks like the dealer ripped you off by adding off road stickers which it looks off road model to you. That's why you need to research first before buying a vehicle so you can verify stuff based on research. Such as off road locker in overhead panel and crawl control.

SR5 and TRD Sport has same color matched flares but Sport has scoop. Off road and Pro models have matte black flares.

If you aren't happy with the truck you have, then contact a manager so he will hook you up for something you want.

So when I run the VIN it only shows as an SR5, how are you seeing that it is a Trail edition?
The truck has 31k miles and was listed at 42998. With my 2nd get Tacoma trade in I walked out at 38000.
