That electric ebrake alone is enough for me to give it a big fat nope. The lack of access cab is another nope. All I gather is 4th gen will be faster and more complex, and even though my 2018 isn’t perfect and shifts as smooth a store-brand lawn tractor, I’ll pass on gen 4.

I came from a 2019 Frontier. I loved the little brute but the Tacoma is so much better. Only issues I’m having is a driveline vibration/rotor issue. Hopefully, I get that fixed soon because I love the way it drives.

    21' SR5 that I paid 32K($35.5K TTL). Now 12K mi. I put on $3K in mods before wheels/tires.

Carvana quoted me a buy 32,200 for stock configurations.

    A G4 SR5 hybrid will probably be 41K+ttl(4300)=$44.3K

So I'll be out $12K, then another $3K in mods again

So $15K just to look cooler. I am tempted but will pass. I can do a lot with $15K.

Back awhile ago carvarna offered $32,500 for my 2020 access cab sr5. After reading all the sorry complaints here on tw with their tacos....I told them no way, its the best running truck I've ever driven.

I’ll wait for the electric version. Then I might trade in for it

My feelings exactly, typical mileage for my 22 AC OR will be 5-7k a year so could be the last taco for me too.

Traded in my 21 Tacoma for a new Ridgeline about 4 months ago, wanted something different. The new 2023 off-road Tacoma should arrive this week, I’m staying for a bit longer.

Considered waiting for the 24, not a fan of the 4-turbo.

    PS, my ridgeline sucks.

I traded in an old GS300 for a brand new Accord, hated it, crashed it, traded it in less than year, bought a GS430 and drove it almost 7 years before coming back to a new Tacoma 4x4.

    @Buck Henry

Who has time to worry? lol

And I'm sure you're being hard on yourself in this life...but I get it.

The last new vehicle I purchased was a 2003 Honda Pilot when stationed at Hickam AFB, Honolulu HI--I paid $32K for EX/DVD leather.

That vehicle had over 200K miles before my accident in Oct 2018.

I mourned for a little while with my transition vehicle...2010 Mazda CX-9.

But then the time came for me to buy new once again.

Thought about the Tundra but that was way too much truck for me.

Since I came from a four-door utility vehicle, it was not out of the ordinary to want the quad-cab.

The TRD Pro was not in my thoughts with the higher end expense...my threshold was $40K.

Reading the model levels and evaluating my driving terrain, I chose the Sport--the "skewp" was a significant persuader!

I haul things like I had in an SUV with the capacity the Pilot had...I also used the CX-9 in the same fashion.

This months marks the 2 year anniversary of owning my Sport; with just over 20K miles so far.

I plan on keeping my 2021 Sport for as long as I can since I've made changes that I do not want to reverse.

For those who transition to the 4th generation, come back here (TW) and be subjective in your evaluation.

+1. I hate to say that about my beloved Volvo but after my '16 XC90, nope, not again.

I'd say that I should have waited for the '18+ but then I wouldn't be enjoying my '22 Tacoma! I pulled the chute before getting burned by the inevitable short block replacement due to the oil burning issue coming for all '16s and some '17s who haven't had the pistons or short blocks replaced already. But it's been solved on '18+, so get yours today! lol

That being said, I'm still a Volvo guy but will be avoiding the first 2 model years or engine redesign years.

This '18 is my last pickup. It will eventually be the 2nd vehicle (beater) when the time comes for an EV/HV Wrangler and retirement.
