Mine was leaking from the overflow tube which just needed a ring clamp to fix it.

I installed the red battery clamp from AJT Designs early this afternoon. The Tacoma OEM J-hook at the rear of the clamp ends with a button welded to the clamp, so the 4th Street NAPA store came to the rescue with the package of two 8” J-hooks, flat washers and nuts (SAE size), hacksawed about 2” from the threaded end, so it fits, and I’ll likely lock the threads with (red) paint. The OEM front J-hook was used with one of two nuts and both composite washers in the new clamp kit. Fancy! Thanks to a video posted on YouTube University by another Tacoma owner who did this, but with an electric angle grinder. Using the mini-hack didn't take much longer. 20230527_153707[1].jpg 20230527_153556[1].jpg 20230521_165329[1].jpg Third pic was taken during last weekend's TVD emblem overlay decal process, showing the middle letter applied and burnished down before removing the transparent transfer tape.

If anyone's looking for a single 8" J-hook and nut to use with one of these AJT clamps, let me know and I'll drop it the mail, unless you think I should keep it in case the rear hook falls off.

 i pulled them to do lower ball joints. Toyota has really weird sizes and i never ended up having the proper cup. Fun fact, beck arnley now are the suppliers for the 555 lower ball joints for our trucks.

Painted most of the rear axle with corroseal. This is going to be a long process of rust remediation. Maybe I should start a build thread…wait until I get to the learn how to weld and fix the rocker panels post

My plan is pretty simple, wire brush as much as I can reach, wash with simple green, corroseal, rustoleum, fluid film/cosmoline RP342 (or both), drive it until it dies. It’s a 2006 in New York, I can only hope to achieve so much.

Good deal wire brush is a must, do as you have described I'm sure some others on here can guide you way better than me. I saw that rustoleum has a rust inhibiting paint in black. I like to use enamel paint, and have been on the hunt to take my 09 somewhere to get the undercarrage done. Driving it for the foreseeable future myself.
