Short bed Platform bed extension

Anyone have any diy for the Tacoma Short bed plywood extension? I've watched a bunch of videos but no one seems to build a extension for when the tailgate is down with 2 people sleeping straight. I've thought about sliding Rubbermaid totes or something. But has anyone made something folding like the bam beds tailgate extension and paired it with their on plywood platform?

 

I don't have any plans but am considering doing something similar. I added a used Decked box and it raised the floor about 7". I just need something about the size of the tailgate. I'm think something Knock Down style like this so it can be disassembled and lays flat. Pretty easy to make with a table saw and a router.

 

That particular detail looks HEAVY!
