I'm learning myself, I haven't considered gaming since the Playstation 2 was the popular system. But yeah $450 seems to be cheap compared to most gaming PCs and its something to tinker with lol.

 

Man that looks like it was a blast. Sucks about your trans though. Thats odd that it only ran hot once.

Hayden, don't know if you've priced video cards lately but I was building gaming pc's for years. But with the way games are today you need a powerful video card and then you have to have a pretty awesome power supply to run it. That why I went with an x box series x.

Yeah, everything I'm talking about would be used gear. I'm looking at a Radeon RX 580 8Gb GPU, You can get them used for $100 or less and the z420 is $100 to $200 depending on ebay sellers. Then a higher core count higher clock speed used CPU $40 ish (Intell E5-2697V2 more than likely), 32 to 60 Gb of ram and then if I am feeling spendy a PCIe adapter for M.2 SSDs and a decent size M.2 drive.

Oh and the Z420 comes stock with a 600 watt power supply, that should be plenty for the upgrades I have planned.

Morning Phil, hanging out at home for a while, Doctor's appointment this afternoon.

 

You could always go with a barebones and then add as you can afford it. I built a powerful amd pc for a little over 1k but almost as soon as I got it finished everything was already outdated.

That trail was so hard, I was wore out! And so was my winch, gave out on me, gotta fix that. We had a really good time, can’t wait to do it again! I hit a deer head on the way up there, ARB took it like a champ, no damage. I have a video but I’ll just post a screenshot lol And LOL on me in your rear view mirror

I mean I could buy a ready to play machine but I'm a tight wad and like to tinker . Plus I'm not looking to be competitive and play in 4k at super high refresh rates. 1080P will be all I need to tool around, My oldest really wants to play mind craft so I'm sure thats what it will end up being used most for.

Hell I'm not even sure if I will enjoy PC gaming.
