I know I've never seen a transmission fail from having fluid drain/fills done on regular intervals as my original statement.

I've heard (never seen) stories of failures caused by a flush on high mileage trans that had never been serviced.

I also know a guy who rebuilds transmissions for a living. Let's ask him. @gearcruncher

I cant see any issues from changing your transmission fluid too often . In fact , a lot of transmission shops promote changing the transmission fluid sooner than later .

It would be cool to see what that Youtube guy is talking about .

When you replace old transmission fluid with new fluid , you are are increasing the life span of the transmission fluid with new detergents , new friction modifiers plus all the benefits the newer fluid has to offer .

This is what I do with transmissions when customers pay for our lifetime warranty
If the customer pays for a lifetime warranty , part of that deal requires him to pop by the trans shop for a yearly visit so I can drop the pan .
When you drop the pan , only half the oil is removed , however , by removing the pan , it gives me an indication of whats going on inside the transmission .
It gives me the opportunity to check his vehicle over for possible leaks or any adjustments that should be made .
The fluid in the torque converter does not get emptied , just the fluid in the pan which is far below half the fluid .
The converter holds a lot of fluid .

Flushing high mileage transmissions ? dont do it . Sadly , many people make this mistake .$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Good for my shop , not your pocket book

Drop the transmission pan and clean or replace the filter , clean the magnets .
This gives you an idea of whats going on inside the transmission .

Hey man, just wanted to pick your brain about something.

Just got back from a 4 day wheeling/camping trip in KY. It was a blast! However…. After a pretty tough trail, on the ride back to camp I noticed my Transmission/ tcase sounded different than before. There is a very noticeable whine now. Almost like a supercharger sound but not as loud. Anyways I drove 7 hours home today and halfway through my transmission jumped up to 230ish degrees and I pulled over and let it cool down. The highest I’ve ever seen my trans is 215 so that was weird. It was only going up as well even with decreased speed. So anyways let it sit for 25 min and cranked it back up. Got back on interstate and drove 70 all the way home and it acted normal temp stayed around 149-175 . Whine is still there though everything shifts fine and nothing unusual besides the whine and that weird moment. Should it be something to be concerned with?? Fluid looks good at full mark and still pink OEM fluid. I do have 2 coolers so should I add more to the trans you think to account for the extra coolers? Seems like it’s cooling just fine now again. Truck was inclined for a good bit of the trail in the hard section. Double locked with wide open in 4lo but nothing crazy like a bunch of bouncing or anything.
