I think so. I believe many states allow binary triggers though.

Yes, there are nine states, along with the District of Columbia, that have banned binary triggers. While these devices are legal on a federal level, that doesn’t stop states from making their own rules in this context. States that have either banned them explicitly, included language that can be taken as a ban, or completely excluded any references to binary triggers.

 

At lot of states have laws on the books for “rate of fire enhancements” that increases rate of fire…..

 

but it’s fun as hell if you’re in one of the other 41 states. Highly recommend the 10/22 one. Ammo is cheap enough you don’t feel bad doing mag dump after mag dump and recoil is light enough you can actually aim under rapid fire.

I don't know about individual states but as far as federal it's similar to what is going on with braces. Rare Breed sold them for a while with no issues, then BATFE issued a decision saying that they consider them to be machine guns. Rare Breed sued BATFE to challenge this decision and BATFE sued Rare Breed to get a judge to order them to stop selling them, which did happen early this year. Rare Breed's lawsuit hasn't gone before the court yet. Feds have been knocking on people's doors to attempt confiscation from people they know bought them. The few videos I've seen, they didn't have warrants so it seems to be effectively voluntary at this point. There are still some places that have them listed for sale online but I'd be surprised if it's not the Feds.
