First gen taco.. Firestone airbags, Curtis 7 pin wireless brake controller, tuson sway control. Gross weight 8960#

Jayco 26ft travel trailer. Easy towing with Tuson managing sway. Brakes are strong with Curtis too. 7% grades require low gears.

Easy towing?? Compared to what - hitching it up to your mountain bike and trying to tow?

That 8960# is gross combined weight, right?

Previously towed with a Tahoe... I believe the TUSON system made the difference. And yes Tin Foil hats were worn following proper SOP.

Finally got a chance to open up my new to me camper and see what i have to work with. Found out it does indeed have a set of brakes on it, but are electrically unplugged for some reason? I need to start investigating brake controllers for the truck, reconnect the wires and see what happens.

Getting ready for our initial run with the Explore. Making some simple improvements being mindful of space and weight. 1st order of business…turn the full size tip out bed into a king. A lightweight Stansport cot with a 4.5” self inflating mattress works nicely. Add a lightweight aluminum table and collapsible cubes for storage and seating and we have a nice comfortable space for eating and sleeping.

So my grandparents decided it was time to give up the boat, so I’ll be towing this from Virginia to Texas. A 2002 SeaDoo Sportster LE! About 1800 pounds all together. Took it to their marina to test it out, about 25 miles and 14.5 mpg.

First run. We packed everything including the “kitchen sink” to see what we needed, wanted, or could live without. It was heavier than where we will be next run, but we now have a good idea of what we like.
The Amazon version of the MoonShade is definitely a keeper. At 8 lbs it’s lighter than an awning and provides nice protection. Bought one for over the ramp door and will deploy that instead of the screened room next trip. Towed great. Love this little trailer.

After almost two years of having the trailer, how are you liking it and how is the taco handling it? We're looking at getting the same trailer.

This is my rig. 18' keystone bullet with the slide out. Around 3600# dry. My truck PXL_20221004_151603966.jpg is a 2021 offroad with the MT. I have the equalizer WDH. Very stable pulling now. Got the OTT tune around 2mo ago trying to get a little more low end torque pulling the camper. It made a big difference for me. Happy with the setup now. I'm not so tired, or stressed out when I get where I'm going.
