Installed the 1.25" wheel spacers this morning. Definitely helped the fitment with the 3rd gen wheels. May also put flares back on. Still waiting for the wheel dip to show up though20230529_182141.jpg

I wasn't sure at first but they grew on me. I might plasidip over them to match them to the wheels, bronze gold color

Changed oil and filter and while in there replaced the oil filter housing gaskets. 26 year old and the majority of slow oil leak. Then took it to a car wash, used degreaser and sprayed off the lower end again while I had the skid plates off.

    Yes

Was going to make fancy brackets to hold them... but... nah, they'll ride there just fine. And I have way too much other shit to get done.

The float chargers will be a good investment now that the truck isn't a daily anymore.

LT and 1" wheel spacers in the front? So 3" spacers each side for the rear to match the front width?

The back doesn't match the front right now. It won't be made up with spacers. The new rear axle will be wider to make up the difference.

Ok 1st geners, what I “need” to do to my 1st gen today is figure out why it has a slight backfire or misfire at high rpm… just before I hit rev limiter in 1st and let off or shift it pops or cracks. I noticed once or twice while on shake down run (only off-road run yet) and yesterday when I ripped around town for shits n gigs.

Going to start with cleaning MAF, any other first things to check?

also would or could a shorter tube intake cause issues like this, think it could screw with air/fuel issues or am I over thinking it as usual lol

Have a scan gauge or some other OBD reader? What are your short and long term fuel trims?

agree, it's running rich and the LTFT probably shows it's pulling fuel. Mine does the same lol

Things to investigate would be stuck injector(s) over fuelling, MAF malfunctioning and misreading air flow, exhaust leak causing O2 reading to be off. Someone can probably tell you what the MAF reading should be at idle when looking at the live data but I don't know OTOH :/

My LTFT was -17 and after swapping in rebuilt injectors from MotorWest it came down to -10ish. I still need to look at the MAF and vacuum/exhaust leaks because I want to get closer to 0

Started installing a prototype set of bed stiffeners from @Kwikvette, I think I promised I'd take some decent pics and provide some basic instructions:

Testing fit and checking that everything clears with the tailgate up and down
    PXL_20230531_022732087.jpg

    PXL_20230531_022758016.MP.jpg

Remove the taillight so you can access the back of the fasteners and don't have to worry about drilling into it.

    PXL_20230531_022833678.jpg

    PXL_20230531_022907077.jpg

Use a transfer punch to mark the hole locations.

    PXL_20230531_023049838.jpg

    PXL_20230531_023056029.jpg

    PXL_20230531_023132692.jpg

Drill out the holes starting small and increasing in steps til everything is the desired size and bolt it all together.

    PXL_20230531_025046062.jpg

I will be pulling it off to paint and to replace the hardware with hex head fasteners. I just used what I had to fit and install :)

Sheeeeesh, way more than I could ask for :fistbump:

Wasn't sure if the holes along the bedside would've been too high or low so glad to see they worked out the way they did. You'll need to add to your notes if you wish for the holes to be moved.

Going to wait until she posts her thoughts on any changes I should make. I'll adjust and I'll make some out of 3/16"

That one there is just a test piece and only 12 gauge.
