Looking for a grey sport ac with a manual, found one with 8000 miles for 40.
They do pop up occasionally, and some with a lot of money on tastefull mods.
Better to wait and capitalize on someone who spent a lot and getting rid of or buying new if one doubtfully pops up or like new?
How long will Toyota a keep making new before they shut down for the new model?

Sounds like a reasonable deal, if out-the-door. Prices 'may' drop but then again mileage 'will' go up as you wait. You might
luck out and find a 2023 for around that amount if you want to roll the dice.

I wouldn't be scared to buy used. Bought my '18 in June of '21, had 25k miles, like new.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a modded truck. I'd want it as close to factory as possible and change it how i wanted.

I have been buying pre certified for many year and so far it has worked out. Usually most people treat their leases like their own. I’d buy it, power wash and fluid film/crc the frame.

Low milage used from a Toyota dealer is the way to go. Certified used Toyotas get a 100k mile powertrain warranty.

Make sure you really drive the used truck. Super low mileage used trucks can be somewhat of red flag meaning someone traded it in early because they didn't like something. I always think it's odd when you see an almost new super low milage truck already for sale.

Is it a base sport or does it have the LED/Roof/leather? A new basic sport is around 38k and leather 44k-46k

Trd sport a/c might be hard to find but isnt 40k the price of new? I would buy new at that price and low mile tacoma always say something is wrong that is why they returned it.

Anything high dollar sold at auction raises a red flag for me, possible someone is dumping a lemon and doesn’t want to be associated with it. Buy new at that price.

That's practically the price of a new OR. With the next generation around the corner it's tough to say if you'll be able to get an allocation for a new 23 or not. For that price I'd rather get a new one; but I'm patient and didn't mind waiting 9 months for mine.

Most vehicles that go to auctions. There is a reason/problem with them, can't sell them, or don't want sell it on there lot. Carfax only shows reported problems/Ins, can be repaired at non reporting shop.

Whats your opinion on the sr5.
I was looking at the sport for the color matching flares,i dont like the black and the hood scoop is cool but not necessary.
I planned new gears and a locker anyway.
    Small lift,topper and 255/80/17 skinny’s.
    Simple and hopefully dependable.
    Thanks for the advise

Don't let these guys spook you from buying a used truck. Of course every low mileage vehicle out there was let go for a reason. It does not mean it is a lemon. If you do your homework and check them out thoroughly, you can save thousands buying used. Or at least you used to be able to! o_O

Used is totally fine. But an auction vehicle is a different story. A Tacoma that low of miles, and that new. Why would it go to auction? They are to much in demand for a person/dealer to let it go a wholesale price, if there wasn't something strange/ wrong with it.

Correct. I bought my truck with 8k on it. I'm sure the owner decided they wanted a big boy truck, not the little 5 lug 'pool man' truck they had.

Fine by me. The thing has been awesome for the 8.5 years I've owned it!

For me the SR5 has everything you need and nothing you don't.

Biggest selling point was no fob... it uses a friggin Key. No push-button gizmos.
I don't do rock-crawling or need all that fancy locking what-not, the standard 4WD system is fine for what I do.
It's totally stock with the exception of a few added items / Rekgen Flaps, Bed Lights, Bed Mat, Bed Step, and running steps, oh and
    the Bakflip MX4 cover.
Will eventually replace tires with some beefier AT tires but nothing that requires lifting or cutting... actually at this point I hope to live
long enough to need to replace the tires LOL..

I bought a 2018 at the very end of 2019 with 21k miles on it, also like new. Had no issues, but I did try everything out heavily at the start to be sure I could take advantage of the 3 year bumper to bumper warranty if I needed to.
