    Hello everyone,

I'm brand new to this forum and the proud owner of a recently purchased 2004 Tacoma (4x4; Manual).

I need help identifying the switch in my pic below. I always thought this was fog lights, but I don't believe the 2004 came with fog lights. At least I do not not see any fog lights.

I have also heard these are for the daytime running lights, but I'm not sure.

I've tried turning off/on while someone was walking around the vehicle and no lights are turning on (I could have a bad fuse, bad switch, bad bulb, etc.).

Anyway, if someone knows what this is for, I'd appreciate the knowledge.

That’s not factory. Maybe some sort of under lights? Or some sort of flying saucer launcher?
    Best to start following wires.

Look for loose wires, and any other auxiliary lights. Could've gone to the bed for bed lighting, rear lights at the bumper (or below/behind).

Not factory, so you're going to be the best person at finding out what it's for since we don't have your truck in front of us.

Did you look at any add-a-fuse connections coming from your fuse panel? Did you even pop the hook and check out the fuse box or battery there? Did you pull the interior panel and follow the wiring? Anything done on your part?

    I did pop the hood

I have not followed the wiring yet - wanted to see what this switch is for, and this is the forum to ask this question

Interior is super easy to remove without destroying anything fortunately.

No holes on top of the bumper? Could've been some aftermarket lights the previous owner insisted on keeping.

    Cheap bastard.

The image on the switch sort of lends itself to aftermarket fog lights. But that's IF they used the switch for what it APPEARS to be for. Can't say.

Test battery voltage with it in both positions. That should help you see if there's any detectable load tied to the switch.

I'd pop it out and see if any wires are going to the back of it. No wires - it's inert.

*edit* wish I saw those 7 raptor lights before I tried to help

I have to disagree, you can clearly see by the icon on the switch it renders the vehicle impenetrable by UFO's in the event of an attack. <shields are up, captain>

I think you are correct. Rotate the switch 90* to the right and you'll see the 'correct' image of fogs.

My thought is it was previously added, fogs or maybe ditch lights were pulled, and you may or may not find supporting wiring around.
