First step, check the bulbs and check the connectors at the back of the headlights

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like a relay problem to me.

Check the 20A Dimmer fuse for power.
Check the 10A Hi fuses for power with the headlight switch on Hi beam.

Need to be out there with a test light or voltmeter when its inoperative...then you can narrow it down to voltage or a ground issue

Check the fuses for POWER when this happens. Just pulling them and looking to see if they are good.

That is why is said to check the fuses in my post above. Checking those fuses will tell us what side of the relay we are working with.

Warmed up in the engine compartment or in the cab? I ask because I have had electronic connections that didn't conduct until the small metal pins expanded with heat. This was a very hard problem to troubleshoot. It looks like the weather is warming up, so your problems maybe gone until next winter. Next winter try warming up the engine only with the cab heat off. This could possibly give some direction as to where the problem is occurring. Why did you wait until now (Summer) to ask??

Yes seems like a relay is sticking. They are inexpensive.
