Shop Time w/T.W. Friends

A large format printer was needed, someone helpfully suggested that there was a "good one" available from another plant.

They sent it down complete with all the paperwork, proudly on the front cover of the manual was this sticker:



The printer was built in 1999, they sent it down in 2017...

"Good one"

Now we are stuck storing the giant dinosaur -- we can't throw it away because "we paid a lot of money for that, it was a good one..."

 

The times over the years when I seemed to end up needing to work with Sanford and Son Riggers .

I lost count it never failed the harder and heavier the lift the bare minimum of equipment.

Something simple 2 detachable drop decks full of equipment.

Ahhh Y2K compliant. That brought back some memories

 

The world was going to stop because all the computers would just be confused .

trying to figure out how much back pay they were entitled to receive.

 

This is why we have to be careful who we talk to at work, too many va j j’s. Grow up and toughen up that skin!

 

And its usually not the women

 

That's the darn truth!

There's way more drama amongst men, it's the funniest (and saddest) thing. All the ego's fight amongst each other.

 

Next up- convince them they need a 3D printer

 

I've had one for years, of course, I haven't used it in years. But it was useful a few times.

 

There are a bunch on campus but none in my department.

 

I just realized I was only 10 years old at the time. Holy crap

 

I find that true - kind of... I'd rather work with men any day.

We had one production area that was almost all women.
It was a fiddly job and the women almost always did better work than the men in that area, they had better attention to detail and did neater work.

The problem was they would get feuding among themselves.
You would walk into the area and the air would seem electrically charged -- nobody is saying anything but there would be a lot of huffs, puffs, glares and banging tools going on. -- The intelligent choice was to GTF out of there...



Men don't usually do that, someone will stride down the line, there will be some raised voices and they go for coffee at break time, issue resolved.
