I really want the newer OEM LED headlights but am worried that they won't work. I have a 2017 SR5 and I know your harness is for TRDs, so I wanted to double check before buying anything.
    Thanks in advance!

The TRD harness will not work for SR or SR5 Tacoma, or at least it won't be able to send turn signals, drl or parking lights, only low and high beams.

The SR / SR5 harness is different because Turn and DRL are combined via ECU on SR and SR5 to a single wire. Hence the SR / SR5 harness must demultiplex this into two discrete signals. While it seems so straightforward on the surface, there are many ways in which the ECU is determined to throw a fit (too much resistance, too little resistance) and will hyperflash or disable turns entirely. So, even the harness I once sold becomes a bit more challenging to install and requires more advanced skills than anything else I build depending on what else has been modified on the truck as far as turn signals go and general luck of the draw.

I believe Johnny may resume production once he heals up from surgery so there may be an avenue for serious buyers. Monitor this thread for updates:

At this point, the only way I think I'd get back into this is if I came up with a solid state board design which I could easily waterproof such that I could get the price tag down and streamline/scale. This theoretical module would translate the SR 3 position front connector (DRL + Turn, Parking Light, Ground) to the discrete TRD DRL (DRL, Park, Ground) and Turn (Turn, Ground) connectors and would then work upstream of the TRD conversion harness for those who want OEM LED. In theory I'd need external power and some way to exactly match resistance of the OEM turn bulbs, perhaps by employing them in a blackout tunnel. This theoretical harness hasn't been much of a priority nor is it likely to be, heaps of work for just a few who might want it. I am curious to see the lower trim 2024's as far as headlights go, if the same design is propagated into 4th gen then it could be worthwhile to pursue this. However, if 2024's don't combine DRL and Turn then it really becomes a very small limitation for 2016-2023 SR and SR5 and the current approach is likely as far as it's worth taking.

Johnny and I have tried many different options. Ultimately he is relatively satisfied with the v2 harness using a timer and relay per side with optional resistor. I am not as satisfied, I feel like it's too many parts, too complicated, too expensive, too difficult for the average person to troubleshoot, and the extra headache of resistance just puts the whole thing over the top for me. The plethora of questions, problem reports without any follow-up and return requests cemented my position on this.
