How big of tire and rim can i get???

i have a 2010 4 cylinder access cab, long and low...i want it to be up a little higher so my plan was to get a bigger tire, bigger wheel, and maybe add a 1" block...my question is has anyone done this, if so can i see your pics, and if not, do you know what size i can go....i figured i can do 265/70/16...im at 215/?/15 and it is too small....thanks.

 

look in the 5-lug section for how people have lifted the trucks and what trie/wheel combo they are running.

 

I'd look through the 5 Lug forum too. Also the Wheels and Tires forum. I have, but you should make your own choice with your truck / money.

You should have 215/70-15 right now.

The consensus seems to be max size should be 235/75-15 for stock base suspension. It fills the wheel wells nicely, doesn't rub, doesn't throw off your gearing too much, and should put your speedometer to where it's correct.

If you want to change your wheels to 16" or 17", use the tire size calculator (I think it's a sticky in Wheels & Tires also) to get something with the same overall size.

I've got 16" wheels on mine right now so I think I'm going to go with 225/75-16 Michelin Latitude Tour. Not an awesome Off Road tire by any means, but it has a low rolling resistance and is Green X rated. By going to this larger tire I might actually see a MPG increase instead of decrease and they'll look better on my truck.

I know it doesn't say that it fits a 2010 but you could find something similar, then you could go with a 265/70-17 or 265/75-16

You'd probably need to consider re-gearing the differential then.

The tires on my truck are 235/75R16(29.88" tall) the factory size is 215/70R15(26.85" tall). I have no issues of any sort with running this size.

No matter what if you go up or down in tire size your speedo will be off.
