I drove that 3.0 TT in the Explorer ST. It rips. Fantastic motor for a midsize truck.

I'm just not a fan of the hybrid in general. I like less to have to worry about in keeping it simple. I also like storage for stuff where the batteries take up space.

Ford should really have a plant dedicated to Bronco Raptor, Ranger Raptor, F-150 Raptor. More supply will drive costs down (easier to find one at MSRP).

 

Looks heroic but I just wouldn’t take a chance on Ford. Even Farley says the quality sucks right now. However…

This is exactly the halo truck I wanted to see from Toyota: Take the Tundra V6T, no hybrid, toss in a front locker. And b/c it’s not a hybrid, they could offer a manual. Am I being that unreasonable?

 

I like it. Front and Rear locking differentials. Lots of power and torque. No gimmicky complex hybrid system needed to make the extra power.

With the hybrid system giving extra torque how long can you achieve the rated 465 lb-ft of torque before the battery is depleated? No one talks about this...

 

I applaud anyone who's able to get one for under $70k.

 

I would take one of these and I dont even offroad. Would love the grunt for towing my boat.

 

I think Halo models in general are silly. Even if I hit the lotto I wouldn't wanna be seen in a Pro or Raptor Ranger. I also think the "Trailhunter" name is super cringe and it will no doubt be mostly driven by trust fund kids who made a new years resolution to become "outdoorsy".

 

‘Even though Ford dealerships are filling up with vehicles they can’t sell it looks like they are still content with gouging customers. I won’t feel bad when some go out of business. They asked for it.

 

I live in south Florida and all the Ford dealerships around us are acting like they don't have enough Explorers. Recently got back from the Blue Ridge mountains and one Ford dealership was storing literally hundreds of them off lot in a field in full view of the highway. Dealerships are behaving criminally with their vehicle stock. All the Toyota dealerships down here have "empty" lots and charge 5-10-15 thousand dollars worth of "market adjustment".

Until people stop paying market adjustments the dealerships will milk that cow as long as they can. Unfortunately there's always some poor schmuck who needs the newest, shiniest thing regardless of markup.

Yeah pretty scummy for that Ford dealer to park their inventory off-site.

And I sincerely hope it does because that low down torque will be very welcome for everyone.

 

By next spring if not sooner we will finally be in a buyers market IMO. Cracks are already showing. And yes Toyota will fix their inventory issues in the next 12-18 months. They can only give up so much market share.

 

Ford ain’t fking around anymore with their midsize. And they seem to be on a speed run with the F150. Updated model due in summer.

Just glad there’s honest competition vs the Tacoma, that Toyota has to work a bit harder now. Also glad they didn’t lay and egg like they did with the Tundra.

 

If I wanted a bunch of looky-loos, would build up an old F250 crew with a modern drivetrain. 7.3 Godzilla in this one. That would get more middle-aged dads coming up to you at gas stations, than a Ranger Raptor would.
