Hi all! I was looking into buying the Eibach stage 2R setup and some 285s for my taco. I called Eibach and they said that I would be able to use these coil overs with the stock UCAs. Have any of you had any experience with this setup? I’ve read on here that once you go past 2 inches it’s best to get new UCAs, but Eibach says I can use the stock UCAs even with 3” of lift. Hopefully I’m able to squeeze out 3.5” lift. Thanks for your help:)

I've installed them for a customer before with JBA UCA's and they do ride nice for the price (along with their 1" rear block spacer kit). Technically, the stock uca's will probably be fine if you keep the coilovers at the ride height they come set to out of the box and keep stock tire size, but these trucks are very sensitive to downtravel and lifting them more than about 1.65" up front causes the truck to start riding pretty terribly. 3.5" total lift is achievable if you include the additional height gained from the larger tire size, but cranking down the collars to achieve a 3.5" lift in just the suspension is going to be terrible to live with in pretty much every way other than just visually. Out of the box this setup comes preadjusted to clear 285's just fine at around 1.5" of lift, but you will need to have your alignment tailored to clear the tires without rubbing based on what offset you run on your wheels. This usually means caster needs to be around the 3.5° range (I say usually, because each of these trucks seems to be completely different), and to achieve caster settings that high you will need to also upgrade the upper control arms and find a shop that knows how to align these trucks properly to take advantage of the increased caster instead of just putting it back to factory specs. That said, when I recommended this setup to my customer, I also recommended they purchase the high caster UCA's because I knew she wanted to go up to 285's on low offset wheels.

Thanks for your input. I really like the stock 16” wheels so I’m going to add spider track wheel spacers to clear the 285s. So the. JBAs are the way to go for affordable price? I off-road every so often so I’m going budget friendly.

Anything that allows for higher caster should work nicely. I like my JBA's a lot - they are simple, rebuildable, greaseable and come set to the specs you want them to be out of the box. IMO they're the best for the price, but there are a ton of options for UCA's, look around and see what looks like it will suite your needs the best.

All depends on the wheel offset. More lift doesn't necessary mean more clearance between the tires and UCAs.

I have this kit. It was fine until I adjusted to 3 inch then I have negative castor and rose like crap! You can adjust these 0-4 inches up front. So I bit the bullet and bought JBA uCA and wow it changed everything! Rides so well now! This kit kicks ass! Also removed sway bar and threw it in the garbage! Uca are tricky to install but I figured it out. I used snips to cut metal because pliers won’t have the depth to bend without cutting. Driver side was hard to bend and I’m not a small dude. Good luck it’s worth it!

My buddy kept his at 2.5 lift and has stock uCA and it had no problem getting alignment and rides great! So only need if going 3 or above oh and my buddy off roads and is super solid!
