Because the automatic transmission was so bad i had to trade it in…. The 2nd one i sold for more than i paid for it - was a no brainer

I for one am not loyal to any make or model. I find a vehicle that fits my needs. Each one will have it's pros and cons. But I am cautious of purchasing any first run vehicle because history has shown every first run had some set backs usually by the third year things have been figured out. By then I will see if I still want to hold onto my 3rd gen or trade up.

insane people will pay these kind of prices. Half the reason the tacoma sold so well was because it was economically friendly. Toyota corp will get away with marking up there trucks forever now because the market will bear it. Hopefully this breeds innovation and a new company will take over the affordable mid size truck market

Mid-sized trucks are moving upscale with higher prices, would expect to see more little unibody pickup's like the Maverick to become available to fill the lower price void.

Insane? Looks like you are quickly becoming a used car shopper; if not, then you're going to risk being called insane as well.

Dunno, Toyotas always cost a little more than domestics. Has been like that since I owned them over the past 30 years, friends were like: you could of had a V8! and for cheaper!

    Yeahhhh….but I like these little trucks…

Just buy the model/trim no one wants. Got my SR for msrp, think it was $33K and some change, seemed reasonable to me. All the markups was the bullshit I added on. OTD for $39K. Tax, extended warranty, the SX package, bed mat, splash guards, and a topper. Shell I found slightly used, but that is what have into the truck total. Sure would have liked to spend $10K less, but considering inflation and the time I bought, felt good enough to me.

Edit: oh forgot maybe add to $1300 to that, bought two sets of tires too, snows and all terrains.

Next truck might be a Tundra SR DCLB, practical doesn’t sell, heck…might even get a deal on that one.

Looks like you bought before it went nuts, 2019? Still, happy with my purchase. Sure it would have been nice to get it cheaper, and actually it was a lot cheaper than the F350 I was looking at, that is a little bit too much truck for what need right now.

Just bought my 3Rd gen the day they announced the 4th gen. I didn’t want to mess with 4 cylinder turbo engines. I like the other upgrades but it’s still to be seen how they perform in the places the Tacoma is known to perform. I’m sure by the time the 5th gen comes out, everyone will hate the former and praise the latter.
