Unfortunately corporate has no pull on service departments. All dealers are privately owned and operated. As the OP stated, he isn't paying anything out of pocket. Just need to wait it out unfortunately.

Dealerships often wont replace seals on axles, they will replace the whole thing and send the old one in to be refurbed.
Techs at dealerships are part replacers, and if the part may require alignment of gears, they just dont have the confidence that they wont fuck it up. So they replace the whole unit.

In the bend is where it accumulates its already discoloring the exhaust and I'm worried it may get on rubber parts and destroy them prematurely.

I have to admit, that's a first for me seeing a truck lifted by a fork lift :)

That's how salvage yards move vehicles around the facility. Really fun to drive!

Lol I know I just pulled it from Google so everyone could visualize where the oil is hitting the exhaust. I guess it's a good thing in a way because if you got any oil leaking it's going there first and sends smoke signals right up very noticeable!

We always just put the forks through the windshield so we didnt damage any of the suspension. Roofs and headliners were worthless so we didnt care if we damaged them.

We sold windshields and B/C pillar cuts and didn't want to bend the pillars. Never had any suspension damaged by the forks.

I agree. With the axle being driven low on fluid, I would not be arguing with a dealer that wants to replace the whole axle.

We did the opposite, sold mostly suspension parts. Winter is wild when everyone spins out and takes out their suspension.

The CV axles are quite farther forward. If it's leaking badly enough to get oil on the crossover pipe, the front diff may be drained already.

    Screenshot_20230602_100943_Gallery~2.jpg

The CV axle doesn't come with the shaft seal by the way. Unless the dealer is ordering a new front diff, which would explain the backorder situation.

Overall, I do not have the time and good at taking apart axles. Sounds like the dealer is taking care of it under warranty.

I asked the advisor if it was low but he couldn't tell me how low and I couldn't speak directly with the tech so I have no idea how low it got.

I know they are. I know OP pays nothing... I said "IF they charge him for axle work." I have had that happened to me for warranty work years ago. I had them to drop the charge and left.

Then you know calling corporate will not force the dealer to do anything and they surely wont "kick the dealers asses". Corporate will, however, compensate OP for anything he is left out of pocket and quite possibly pay for a rental while waiting for the backordered part. Corporate is all about customer satisfaction...they have absolutely nothing to do with a dealer or their service department.

Couldn't speak with the tech? Another reason to go to a different dealer.

I know they won't kick the asses.. it is a joke... but they make it right for customers.. that is simple.

I know how it works.. take it up to corporate if you find the service is wrong or you get charged while you have a warranty.

If corporate won't do anything, then you know what to do next.
