Los Padres National Forest opened up the gates to most(?) trails(Kern/Ventura counties areas). Easy cruising and damn there is a lot of firewood to be had. Fun crazy times back in the day harvesting Piñon Pine.

The ground beef empanadas are good. So are the apple cinnamon bear claws!

We then took a cruise to end the day in the Mojave Desert. Hell yeah U2 was on the XM! Winds and the sun’s rays this time of the year…THE BEST.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
That is a beautiful looking spot.

The trail isn’t marked. But here’s the location. Bring at least a 70-90cc saw!!!!

Hah hah! I am in BC Canada…

I bring a chainsaw with me on most trips. I do a lot of trails like this. Always looking for remote fishing lakes that others don’t want to drive to.

Hear hear on taking the time and energy to find those lakes.

BC, I would love to go there some day for Squamish Days to compete in their hotsaw competition. Bucket list extreme!!!

Isn’t it crazy how many good times our Tacos give us? It’s such a pleasure to be around in exploring and experiencing new places.

They got it so right back in the 70’s. Toyota…Oh what a feeling!!!!

Are you a logger? I use a chainsaw these days because I worked as a carpenter in the past. I have walked and fished all the rivers around Squamish when we used to live in Vancouver. After 13 years of ownership, I sold my old 1986 F150 4x4 (my best truck ever) to a guy who was going to use it for logging operations arround Squamish.

One of my most interesting chainsaw uses, was to dismantle a bunch of the Expo 86 buildings in Vancouver after the exposition ended.

A lot of these huge woodframed display buildings with 20 foot high ceilings. An electrical company wanted to remove their massive electrical panels. Working alone, I would just chainsaw right through the walls from the outside, cutting out walls in one section that were 20 foot wide by 20 foot high. Cutting right through all the framing nails and whatever else was framed inside.

Had to first do full inspections from the insides before starting. I had a small crane truck with me, and I’d connect the section to the crane and put the sections on an 18 wheeler who would take them out. The electrical company would then use the hole to get their electrical panels out and and a crane to load them up.

Did that for a few weeks, it was crazy demolition work but kind of sad to see the end of a fun world Exposition.

No, I got into Timbersports back in 2017 when I had a Dolmar 7900. Been using a saw since 2006. Now I compete with custom 3120’s. Good stuff. I know top shelf competitors from the states have gone to Squamish for sometime.

Yes, I use a chainsaw too for demo. It’s the only way to go when you’re short on time, or have a lot to demo like yourself. And that sounds like a crazy job!!! 20’…WHOA! No time for homeowner saws.

World Expos are cool. I got to see one back in 90 something in Sevilla, Spain. Good times.

Rode the " 24 hours in the Old Pueblo " Mt. Bike race course today not really off-road rather than gravel road to get to the trail head, nevertheless had a great time before it got too hot here in Tucson.
