Add a leaf center bolt not enough threads?

Doing my add a leaf right now, and i think my center bolt that was supplied doesn't look like it has enough threads? With the bolt fully tightened, the leaf pack isnt tight, and with it fully compressed, you can see the lack of threads.... is something wrong? I'm guessing if i were to put the overload spring in it would be fine, but i didn't wanna do that

 

Which AAL are you installing?

 

Is there a sleeve covering the lower portion of the bolt? Some manufactures use it to protect the threads during shipment.

 

Just order shorter or fully-threaded center bolts from Amazon or your local 4WP. Alternatively go to a hardware store and pick up socket head cap screws of the same diameter.

 

No local 4wp around here unfortunately... I guess ill go to the hardware store and find something that works

Had the same issue a while back, just go to local advance auto. Mine had a set that threaded all the way up and worked like a charm.

 

Was is a bolt they found to work, or a bolt specifically for a leaf spring?

 

Check if a local O'Reilly's has either of these in stock. They'll have it behind the counter if they do. Then you'll have to trim it to proper length.
