New issue with engine swap. AC button lights up for about 7 seconds, blows cold air then shuts off. hit AC button, runs several seconds blows cold air and shuts off again.

Have a buddy who owns a shop I take it to tell me it is probably the compressor, but to check relay first before I bring it to him. wondering if it could be a relay or sensor. Which relay in the fuse box or is there one? The diagram does not show AC clutch relay - that would be too easy.

Any AC gurus here suggest I fix before I go with the compressor route?

    Thanks

Probably low on charge from a leak, proper thing is connect the gauges, re the pressures to see whats going on in there and go from there. Look for a leak with a uv light and if that doesn't work recover the charge to see if it's low or what and fill with nitrogen to look/listen for leaks and go from there. No offence to your buddy but he doesn't sound well versed with A/c which is fair and again no offence. I only got well versed in it because I am specifically an A/c guy now. Before that it wasn't often at the dealer you would have an A/c issue that wasn't obvious like a leak, blown compressor, dead compressor clutch or condenser from road debris puncturing it . If it happens to be the compressor make sure to check the lines for debris, you may have to blow them out with Nitrogen. I don't recommend using air because it will have moisture in it and you don't want moisture or even air in it. If it's the compressor along change the receiver-drier as thats usually the system filter and vacuum it for minimum 30mins but longer is better, the vacuum boils out the moisture in the system. Let us know how it goes and what the issue is
