I have a 3rd gen off road I just ordered 6112 and 5100 with a camburg x joint I’m going to run 285/70/17. The shop is telling me I need to do a diff drop or I will ruin my CV boots every 6 months. There’s a lot of controversy on this topic I do not rock crawl or off road much but to me my diff being the lowest part on my truck scares me for a inexperienced “off roader” from my understanding there is no proof that a diff drop will help I’m debating if I should just buy new cv boots and axles that are angled when the time come. Or should I do ECGS bushing instead?

    Enough for now
ECGS bushing is a good idea. Diff drop is not needed on a 3rd gen. I’ve had the 6112/5160 lift for over two years and my CVs are fine and I’ve pushed her off road a bunch. If anything the cv boot mod that extends them out after a lift is your best bet even then sometimes not necessary
