I am swapping out the EGR vacuum solenoid on my 2001 Tacoma 4WD 2.7L automatic. I ended up ordering an EGR vacuum solenoid for the same engine but manual transmission. The part number varies slightly between the two parts. My question is, would this even make a difference? Can I just use this EGR solenoid even if it’s for the manual? IMG_0850.jpgIMG_0849.jpg

I would bet that everything would work fine, except it would throw a CEL because that's all the EGR system ever seems to do. I get pending warnings on my ultraguage maybe once a month but it never pops the CEL so I haven't had any issues with smogging or anything (CA).

Yeah I’ve had a code since I bought the truck. Recently started dropping rpm’s while idling so I’ve slowly been swapping parts. Thanks

If you haven't tried yet, new throttle position sensor and cleaning out the throttle body did wonders for my idle. TPS was ~$25 from Toyota and mostly just elbow grease and and cleaner for the throttle body. I didn't take mine all the way off so I didn't have to replace the gasket. I figured if it was still having issues I'd do it right but ~15k miles and it's been running like a champ so I haven't bothered (2.7L 3RZ)
