Just picked up a 23OR 6ft bed, lunar rock, for $43k and change with premium audio and navigation package. Biggest selling points for me were lifetime powertrain warranty and that I actually made 5k on my trade in (2020 Rav4). Break even on trade was 22k and negotiated 27k.

For the Costco discount, you must go through the Costco website. Only certain dealers participate in the Costco program. Something along the lines of put in the Costco website what you’re interested in then they will have the dealer contact you. If you don’t go through the website, then it’s not the Costco discount. I’ve seen dealers straight lie and say that they are giving the Costco discount when it has nothing to do with Costco. Also, beware that I’ve also seen a dealer show me the Costco discount, but then just added that same amount in a completely made up fee, which negated the discount.
#6 in the formula refers to the amount of discount that you negotiated off of MSRP. Prior to Covid, a good to great deal was somewhere in the 8-15% off MSRP range. Now if you get anything off of MSRP, then it’s a good deal. But again, this discount is gotten by negotiating with the sales person on the price of the vehicle. Speak to 10 dealerships and get prices from all of them and have them compete against each other. Show the price from another and ask if they can beat it.

Deals are definitely out there. I was offered a straight $4000 discount off MSRP, without any dealer or doc fees or accessory addendums on my 2023 TRD OR. MSRP was $41242, cash price before tax was $37242. Ordered it March 22. Delivered April 7.

A week before I got a text offering the $4000 discount, I was told that they best deal was a Costco discount, which was only $350 off MSRP.

    Mountain States Toyota in Denver.

I wish I could find the thread but some dude claimed he got $12,000 off MSRP on a TRD Pro, and when I called BS he disappeared. $3,000 is very believable.

You don’t even have to try to negotiate off MSRP here in the north east anymore, they come right out with about 2/3 off depending on dealer

First post. Hey guys! I told them I wasn’t paying any Market Adjustment BS and the salesman apologized and said he had to ask. Lol. Back and forth dance then they let me leave at $48k OTD. Told them I was going to go look at other trucks. I lied. I just went to the steakhouse and then back to the dealership and agreed to the 49k. They have to find the exact truck I want, no added anything.. 2k in Katzkin (installer next door). I put down a deposit and now it’s in the build phase. Fingers crossed it comes through. I feel like I paid a premium but I didn’t want any other trucks. There’s also no other new vehicle I would buy at a premium. Not even close.

Btw I’ve never bought vehicle over $3,500. Let’s go!

Prices are $CAD. Picking up my car in the morning, extremely excited. This will be my first ever big purchase as an adult.
Just a little background of how the deal went down:
It's extremely hard finding Tacoma's or any brand new vehicles in Ontario. So I was just looking for any dealership near me that had it in stock, and all I wanted was to purchase the truck MSRP. Found a dealer that had it, about an hour and a half away from where I live. I went back and forth with the salesperson via text message. I said I didn't want the add-on coverage, but if you discount the vehicle I'll take it coverage. I work in the industry, I know they would rather lose a little in the front end (they're most likely still in the +), and make money, and receive their kickbacks from the banks/warranties since I am financing this vehicle. Like I said I was expecting to purchase this vehicle at MSRP, so the $500 discount is nice. I take it as a win, considering what the dealership I work at (not a Toyota store) is charging for their dealer add-ons (think thousands $$).

PLEASE TELL ME WHERE THIS IS HAPPENING! I WILL GO BUY ANOTHER!!!

Not sure where you find this deal, but on any "on the ground" purchases (very few non SR trucks available), there is usually some type of "add-on" charges. It has been up to 16 weeks to get one built and to inventory, usually requiring a deposit of some value.

I had looked for the month of June for a red, blue, solar or green Limited or Pro Tacoma 4 door, short bed. None to be found in Mass, RI, CT, NH that did not have at least a 2500 delaer mark up. Most Pro trucks were 5000 mark up, if they were available to sell (not pre-ordered with deposit)

Last Monday, my nephew (manager at a local dealer) found 3 Limited that had cancelled deals, a white, a grey and a black Niteshade. Called on the Niteshade first, (a deposit had been placed on Sunday) then the grey (had been damaged on test drive, not available to purchase) and the white one (which I purchased). Since the dealer was 30 miles away, I called, spoke to the Sales Manager, agreed to meet after work and went to see the truck at 730pm. They had a 2022 Lime Green Pro (15k miles, loaded up!) parked beside the Limited when I pulled in. Manager met me and said he had to show me both based on our conversation (the Pro was his demo). Took them both for a ride, made my offer for each and gave them the choice of sale. Manager said to push the new Limited as the market for the used Pro was high, and he could not sell it for less than the new Limited.(43,580.00 msrp, plus Paint (425.00)Bed Cover (650.00) All weather liners/Sill Protectors (258.00) Bed Mat (180.00) Door Guards (140.00) Mud guards (129.00) and Black Side Steps (942.00) (47,639.00). I had offered 47500.00 for the Pro.

Out the door at 47,639.00 with the destination/delivery fee of 1335.00 included. The best price on the 2022 Pro was 49,000.00, though it would be a Certified purchase with the extended warranty coverage. A younger me would have jumped all over the Pro!!!

Manager agreed to have a the salesman deliver the truck to my workplace (Wednesday afternoon) once my tailgate letters were installed and the truck had been polished and waxed one more time.

Since my purchase, my nephew has been watching the dealer network, and no other Limited or Pros have become available in this 4 state area. Any new order for a 2023 may not get built due to 2024 switch over.

There was no mark up, 4.99% Toyota finance for 5 years, 3 free oil changes (one a year while under warranty) and a very painless process that took less than 90 minutes from start to finish!

My brother just got a manual off road in blue for $3,000 off sticker didn’t even have to negotiate and got top trade in. Expand your search to better dealers then. You keep talking about Pros, obviously pros are a lot more difficult to find so I’m sure those dealers are holding out (just like pre pandemic)
