    Yeah I know
I could get it rebuilt for like $2500. Then I wonder about all the other things that have been neglected. Like I don’t even know how this happens look at these holes/gashes in the top of the trans housing o_O

How much is a pick and pull engine, get it running wheel the wee out of it, if it dies pick and pull parts to get running and repeat. Unless you want to spend $2.5k. I was :( to find out the 4.0 in 4runner is not the same 4.0 in taco. Different SCers

Honestly pick and pull engines are no cheaper. They want around 2k for motors with 150k+.. A new longblock from toyota is like 5k yikes haha. I may go full retard on this truck, or until I run out of funds. If @HPTuners would stop dragging their feet on toyota support and they supported the 2trfe it would be great because I could tune for a turbo wink wink. I took the oil cap off to do the dollar bill test for a burnt valve (sucking in air instead of a light exhale). What I discovered is the engine has a LOT of crank case pressure. Like way more than normal.. I don't think she is long for this earth but damn she is holding on strong considering how significant the damage should be to be able to blow the oil cap off when not screwed down..

Little bit of sanding and polishing will clean it right up. Slap it back together and run it lol. Or v8 swap

Haha yeahhh. She is gonna get rebuilt, probably gonna be a like 2.9 L after everything is said and done if the sleeves can be bored out. I like the 4banger so I am gonna stick with that for now. With the final goal of making it a 2tr-fte haha

I think when I get the motor back I am going to make a dedicated build thread for this truck

I’m guessing you are wondering about the red truck, and the answer is I sold that thing! I do kind of miss it but I just didn’t have the time to get it where I wanted it to be.
