Out for a late lunch / dinner ride with the wife. The Grom is awesome. Super smooth, good power stock. And the blue is amazing. It has some nice flake in the paint.

Smoke exhaust randomly showed up today! Other people said it took 8-10 weeks for their exhausts to come in and mine came in 3 so I wasn't expecting it. It sounds great, exactly the volume I wanted.

I haven't had a chance to ride it too much yet but I am thinking I might have to go up a jet size. It kind of pops once in a while under acceleration.

As a short guy I was wary of the seat height as well, but seat height is only one dimension of the equation. A 32" seat that is 12 inches wide is way different than one that is 6 inches wide, for example. They did a good job narrowing the front of the seat, so even being short I am able to comfortably stand over the bike. I'm not flat footed but easily have the balls of my feet on the ground, and when stopped it is really easy to just put my left foot flat. It's similar to riding a bicycle in that aspect. That said, I haven't ever put a leg over an SV650, so I don't know if it's feel better or worse.

Not really a surprise that the Rebel was easier to stand over. Heck, my '03 VTX 1300 was easy to stand over, but I'd never put a new rider on it. I made that mistake myself.

It's far from perfect, or the best at anything, but there's very little that it can't do. I'm super glad they brought the green to the states, but the red and the black/grey look great as well.

Here's some fun footage with no talking. Just the bike doing what it does. I love this kind of video so I'm subbed to this channel, but I can't actually hear my bike above about 35 MPH because of wind noise and it not being very loud.

She tried to ride my 1890cc ‘22 Chief Darkhorse about fifty times of me saying no before we got her on the SV haha. I told her even in the rain mode one wrong flick of the wrist and it’s gone. She still wanted to! She’s a quick learner. Learned to drive our manual pickup in about 20 minutes and drove it to work from the next day on! :)

I’m assuming you’re not 5 ft tall so her inseam is probably not as generous as ours ha. I’ve been riding coming up on 20 years and even though I’ve ridden plenty of tall bikes as a short guy (KLR/DR/XT660) I still prefer a seat height around 30.xx if I’m being honest. Just easier.

Anyway, we’re moving Tuesday so I’m going to try to squeeze some test rides in Monday.

Someday we’ll have a barndo with a dozen or two bikes in the shop… while we’re still so mobile it’ll be 1-2 at a time, unfortunately haha. It’s our only “worth it liability” we’ve kept around since she started. :)

Yeah, I likely have more inseam than she does, but she will get there with the skills. Look at Jocelin Snow and what she does on big fat BMW. Seeing how she handles these things was a big confidence booster for me as a short rider.

I had a few requests for video of the Frank Smoke exhaust on FB so I tried to make one. I cobbled a quick GoPro mount together and as you can tell, the footage/sound isn't the best. Also I think I need to rejet again because I've lost some mph. Thinking of going up to the 95 jet.

Here in PA in the town of Ephrata the American Legion Post hosts a First Sunday Biker Breakfast. This event started at a different location about 30-35 years ago and has moved twice but has remained at the Legion Post for more than 20 years. It still draws a decent crowd but in years past it could pull in over 2,000 bikes on a good day. I was a little late this morning and many riders passed me on their way out. Here's just a few highlights.[IMG]

Of course, I found a few murals during my ride to and from.

The gopro app has a pretty cool video edit feature that makes a video of the captures for that day. Its decent for what it is if you don't want to edit video and just have a recap of the day.

Also once you get use to editing videos in the app, its fairly easy/quick.

Thanks. I will look into it. Does it work with older GoPros? Maybe a couple models older, but not going back to the beginning

I usually like to go with older electronics to save a few $. I dont need to film in 8k or whatever is the latest and greatest.

Haha. The GoPro app stopped working for my hero session. I have to do everything manually now.

The Rever app is pretty cool. You can record your ride then view it on the map, also shows a few stats and can upload any pics you took. Here's a ride I did last week...

    LOL

I have a list to keep track of all the mods I've added to my truck, previous bike, and current bike, complete with prices, brands, etc.

I refuse to go through and add up the totals of any of the lists.
