I am researching a solution for my overland rig setup, in past i used plano boxes and they work great however after doing this for 4 years i am looking at improving the camp setup and break down. my rig does not have rear tailgate and instead has custom gate wilco offroad vertical tailgate which does not provide any kind of dust protection or weather protection. So i have couple of questions in regards of this:

    1. How tight or good is dust protection of the shelfs/rated for your product?
    2. I saw option for insert boxes, for tacoma how many boxes in each tray could go in? i would assume those boxes are heavy weather protected?
    3. what is weight of the product once installed into 5' bed? i checked your site it says 200 for all versions of the product doesnt sound right, i assume 5' for tacoma would weight slightly different then full size 6' bed for ford 150.

    thanks.

You could say the drawers are dust/water resistant, they use a rubber flap. 5' bed should weigh about 150lbs. The optional insert boxes waste a lot of space but are weather proof.

anyone using them for offroad overlading worth the purchase? i hear mixed reviews where people say the system eats up alot of space versus providing for storage, how much stuff can one store in both of the bins?

I just added them to my truck a few months ago and I really like them. I work out of my truck so the benefit of not having to worry about someone looking in the back and taking something is greatly reduced. As far as weather proofing, I've been through some pretty heavy rains and the boxes were dry. The little side boxes are OK, good for storing straps and garbage/empty beer cans. I got a little 6" extension that I plugged into my 110 outlet to kind of relocate that.

I have one and used it loads offroading around nevada, southern ca & arizona. It was great at preventing dust coming in, feels very well built, but does take up alot of space for how much it gives you.
