I think this is the route I’m gonna take. Thanks Eagle.

Hey does this mount feel solid? I like the cubby spot but my P3 definitely will not squeeze into that spot.

Are you sure it won't fit in the cubby spot? It is a tight fit and has to have a hole cut in the back for the wire. That's where I put mini and it is solid as a rock. I'm sure the bracket is solid also, but seemed like when I looked at that spot it had potential for being in the way. Everyone's preference is a little different and generally there is no hard and fast "right" or "wrong", although I have seen a few various accessory installs that I would consider definitely to be a bad idea. LOL

To the right of the wheel would be an easy spot to mount and not really in my way, but the harness is in front of the air bag. I might be able to get the harness out of its way.
Yeah the cubby is like 1/4” too small. I jammed it in there as hard as I felt comfortable and it wasn’t in as far as other folks have theirs. I’m good with making mods so that’s not an issue. I just don’t want to remove that whole under dash panel. But I probably should so I can find a good ground wire nut for the new 3031P harness.

spent too much time outside playing with this. The smoke from the wildfires is overwhelming. Pretty nasty.

Removed the cubby from the under the dash panel and tried to modify it to fit the controller. Controller was just too wide and round for the cubby so I just mounted it with the bracket. Seems sturdy enough now. Doesn’t look too bad.

does the controllers screen stay on all the time?

No, it doesn't stay on. It senses movement and shuts off a certain amount of time after the movement has stopped.
