Well, in my first Toyota truck, a 1985, a standard twin mattress fit in the bed quite well. I found it out by accident while moving about 30 years ago. The size was approximately 74 inches long by 38 inches wide. My current 2015 Tacoma measures 73.5" long by 42 " (between the wheel wells) and 53 " outside of that.

I bought a full size ikea mattress that I’ve been using for years. Like the cheapest foam mattress they had. I’m finally getting around to making marine grade canvas covers for it (chopping it into more manageable pieces), which should improve airflow and durability.

Futon mattress worked in a pinch for a last-minute camping trip. Would have fit absolutely perfect with a long box as mine is short. :anonymous:

I use one of the air inflated mattresses. Plug the pump into the bed outlet, air up. It was amazing.

I currently use a 2 inch foam insulation board topped by a 2 inch foam pad covered by a fitted bedsheet. More comfortable than my $2000 mattress at home, according to both me and my girlfriend, both having used it separately on several trips. Will update how it is for 2 people when we both go camping
    on the same

^ Has anyone tried this item first hand?

Some Taco owners have left reviews... But there are no pics of this in use in a Tacoma. Thinking of occasional use at the drive-in (FAMILY night!).

I hear about the foam ideas, I just want something that is compact - As I might actually try it when camping solo. (I usually use a ground tent.
    - Now that I wrote the above - it will likely be for Drive-in use only...:notsure:
