These people put on 33’s and claim they don’t rub.. but of course you can’t rub sitting still in a parking spot at the mall!

As usual, terrible advice from people who don't read. Advice to upgrade shocks or modify the rear (wtf?) when the complaint is rubbing in the front, and people suggesting a CMC when the first post shows a CMC...gotta love the 3rd gen forum.

OP, rubbing is part of the game even with 33's unless you want to get aggressive on the pinch weld with a large hammer. Your minimum trimming to the liner doesn't help either, you need to get that thing out of the way if you expect to fully clearance 33's. Remove the liner from the vehicle entirely, massage (hammer) the pinch weld flush and seal it after to prevent water/dirt building up underneath. Reinstall your fender liner, use a heat gun and leather gloves to mold the liner as flush as possible with the newly flattened pinch weld.

Lift will not help you alleviate your issues, and performance is going to decrease if you do so. You're not far from clearancing 33's properly, you just need to be willing to either accept a bit of rubbing or be willing to hammer your truck.

These two items make the rubbing worse.
MT stands for Mall Terrain, right? That's why Toyota picked GY Territory MTs for the 4th gen Trailhunter?

Hammer your pinch weld back as far as you can out of the way (towards the outside of the truck) and have your alignment adjusted to move your tires forward. Im on a larger tire and only rub when Im tucked with 2.5" of lift. Im assuming 3rd Gen is the same as 2nd. Keep making small adjustments/cuts where you see the tire rubbing on stuff and you will eventually fix the issue. Unfortunately there isnt an easy way to do it just gotta work at it.

It's not how much you lift, it's how you stuff the rubber ;)

I’m on 35’s and don’t rub. 6 inch DB lift + Bil5100 and OME 887 for another 2.5 inches. Cab mounts have been butchered of course.

You have other problems, more significant than rubbing lol

No seriously, no rubbing after butchering up the cab mounts, even under “heavy” articulation. You gotta remember our trucks are really low from the factory for a truck imo. With my lift setup it’s really not much higher than a stock F150. It’s not much of a challenge to get in or out.

    a stock F150 is 77.2 inches, a 2nd gen Tacoma is 70.1.

    Yep…

I’ve only got 2.25” of doe travel with my 2” OME lift. I wish I knew about extended length shocks before I installed my lift.

I'm pretty sure you can make any mid travel coilovers into ext travel tho? You have to replace/take out a shim. Correct me if I'm wrong tho

I’m running stock length OME nitrocharger shocks. I originally wanted 5100s, which are actually extended travel by 3/4”, but the shop recommended OME.

I would have to get extended travel front shocks and possibly UCA. I wish the shop that installed my OME lift mentioned that. I didn’t fully understand how Toyota IFS worked at the time.

AFAIK, shims are for rear axle only to correct driveshaft angle, I’ve got one installed to correct minor vibes I had.

Truck has been awesome on and off-road, except for the occasional “topping out” if going too fast over bumps/potholes. I am not gonna touch it till my nitro chargers wear out. Should be a while.:)

I actually made a thread about it:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/i-think-my-front-shocks-are-topping-out.794086/page-6

Know, I fully understand how Toyota IFS works.

I thought max height for 6112 was two inches.

According to Tinker's video on extended coilovers (5100 in particular), you may have extended travel already. I mentioned to you on the other thread that the droop on my 5100 was the same as your OMEs
