It would be smarter to let a local to you tuner check it for you, and if it is tuned remove or alter the tune to your liking.

You really don't want to open the door to the dealer thinking a modification has been done, even if it hasn't.

Post your city/state and someone will be able to give you options.

Probably could do that through OVtune as well I would think since they are the ones unlocking VINs.

Sorry! I don't have much. The engine makes engine noises?

Maybe the OP could toss up a vid? Here's one of mine:

Was thinking more of the ability to see what tune is on the truck...if possible.

The engine is just loud, no specific noises, doesn’t sound like it had any issues, just a loud roar when I accelerate. Very well may be normal, was just curious. More interested/concerned that my gas pedal is insanely sensitive. Per the response in this thread, seems it may have a tuner kit installed. I bought it used through a dealership though, so I’m sure they won’t have any info on what was done by the previous owner.

The roar is very likely the fan.

Not really possible. Successfully Reading the ECU will only tell that there is a Stock tune. Reading a tuned Taco or determining what tune is not possible AFAIK.

It might have a tune or other mods like an intake or exhaust? Post up pics or vids to help narrow it down.

Stock 3rd Gen engines start to giddy-up at 3500 rpm’s, then once it hits 4500 rpm’s, it’s time to hold on! Not bad performance for a de-tuned V6.

ECT takes care of the low end city driving. Best part, feathering the gas pedal. You don’t need much input, and the gas mileage stays on par.

Imo, the stock tune work great in my truck. You don't need high rpm for it to move out. 2200 rpm, and it cruises fine on our interstate roads here. I have a hard time keeping it under 80 mph if I don't use the cruise control. The truck will constantly creep away going way over the speed limit.

Removed those Shin blasters, added some nice 20” wheels, and slowly looking to level the SR5 in the front.
Who does Tuning for TACO's in Greenville SC... Hit me up!
