Interseted to see alignment numbers for those with 285/70-17 that didn't need a cmc?
Im probably gonna have to do a cmc because i get a little rub at full lock and when going in reverse. Im around 3" lift, OME/arb UCA , 285/70-17 bfg ko2, 17-8.5 -10 offset wheels.

This is what i got on my alignment, and curious to see if different numbers could get me away from the cab mount without a chop

Caster pushes your wheel forward. With your setup you shouldn’t be rubbing at the cab mount. If you’re still rubbing then check the lca settings.

Thats what i thought, but also read that there is caster adjustment using the upper or lower control arm, and one can push the wheel forward and one can push it backwards? When i got my alignment i told the people i wanted caster between 3.5 and 4, and they put me into factory spec and then came out and said its rubbing. I said yea, because you put my caster in factory spec which pushed my wheel closer to the cab mount. Told them to go back and get me the caster that i asked for. This sheet is where i was at after i lifted and brought it in, and what they adjusted to at first. Also you can see how close i am to my cab mou t at full lock20230607_182944.jpg 20230608_124543.jpg 20230608_124520.jpg

My alinment was great but bro claimed he couldnt get the caster that great. I dont have the numbers offhand. Can get though. No CMC, Drives and rides AMAZING. Only rubbing my XL RocBlock mudflaps in rare instances off camber reverse now. Will get another alinenrnt eventually, no rush.

I believe those UCAs report 2.5-3.5 of additional caster. Caster from UCA brings the wheel closer to the cab. You could switch to SPC and set it to 1 or 2 degrees and it would give a bit more space at the cab area.

    Or

Just do a cmc bc at flex you will likely still rub anyway.

My only issue with spc is finding a shop who knows how to properly use and adjust them.
Yea, ive settled with the fact that im probably gonna just have to do a cmc. Only shitty part is there is not a lot of people that do it where i live. I called an "offroad shop" in my area that sells lifts and wheels and tires that i think mostly deals with jeeps, and he had never heard of a cab mount chop on a toyota before. The one off road shop that i know does good work is booked until july and is a 2hr drive away. I have a couple friends who went through a guy who does fabrication and theirs looks pretty good, but he's busy and hasn't been super responsive to messages ive sent. Guess i just gotta wait.

You are correct with your assumption on caster gains from UCAs vs LCAs. There is an imaginary line down the middle and to get more positive caster which looks like this / uppers push closer to the cab with increased caster.

You are also correct in the difficulty in finding a shop that wants to adjust both because it can get messy. The proper process with SPCs is to adjust caster with your LCAs as much as possible then to come back with adjusting the UCA. You have 3 adjustment points. 2 on the LCA and one on the UCA. The SPC UCA is adjusted by rotating the ball joint. The challenge is that you are adjusting 2 angles with 3 adjusters. It takes patience and most techs don't want to mess with it. They want to see green and move on because green means green in their pocket.

What I have found that works best with techs is to challenge them. Tell them someone else couldn't do it and ask if they can. Most like the challenge of showing up their competition.

Thank you brother. Its the Tyger . I then also added Sylvania led reverse lights to it, wired to come on automatically when in Reverse. Ive had great luck with it.
