So the headlights on my truck are in really bad shape, cracked and hazed, and really do a poor job of lighting the road.

I WANT to order some direct OEM replacements, but those are a bit pricey for my bankroll right now at 600 plus dollars for a pair.
I have also seen all over ebay, some nice looking replacements (tinted and painted) that are considerably cheaper, but I know... you get what you pay for. I also seriously hate paying for junk.
So has anyone ever used these cheaper replacements? Did you regret your purchase? What's the quality like 3 years later? They leak water to the inside? Any other insight or advice?

Can’t recommend oem enough on this. Tried a few and most leak or light output sucks.

General consensus is OEM all the way, aftermarket is junk. Mostly because they leak or the output is crap.

Just from what I have read on the forums.

If you want to go affordable, why not go to a scrap yard place?
Or re-furb or fix your existing one?

I have to agree on what the guys say in the past posts about OEM Can’t beat OEM anything
I personally run Tacoma Beast headlights very easy to hook up, but in the $400 range.
that’s also guaranteed for three years through them

I put in a pair of ANZO from rockauto.com, I felt the lighting was okay, but the quality of fit was junky, it was a fight to get the grill and lights to align. The fit was so bad where the hood met the lights that I couldn't stand it, and ordered OEMs and gave the Anzos away. It was like night and day between how the ANZOs and OEMs fit. I didn't have them long enough to find out if they leaked.

Never considered getting junk yard replacements. I've figured they would already be on their way to being hazy and fogged up like mine are. I have in years past done the headlight restoration kit from 3M twice. The first time worked really well and I was very pleased with the outcome. The 2nd time... it didn't work as great as the 1st. I was having to apply a lot of pressure to the sanding process to break up the haze residue. While applying said pressure I put minor cracks in the lenses, and scored (burned) some spots. Now I figure it's just time to get new ones. I've got 11 years and almost 250K miles out of em, so I can't really complain.
