This is too late for me but for those behind me, I wish my shields had access holes for me to drain and fill my tranny without having to remove the shield, ugh. I know, I know, I know…..if this is all you can complain about.

Not technically complaining… just trying to spur innovation to help those who come after us.

How often are you draining the tranny for this to be a problem?

Do you tow a lot? Having cooling issues? An aftermarket trans radiator may help your trans oil live longer if higher temps is your concern.

Yep. I can afford plopping down $100 to do this. I’m not like a lot of you who likely don’t even wash their bedsheets on a regular basis. But seriously though. I think it depends how long you plan on keeping your vehicle.

If I were like many of you who won’t own it much more than 5-6 years I’d probably do 20k engine OIC’s and never touch the diffs, xfr and tranny. But, I’m in for the long haul and expect my truck to operate at 300k+ as it does now. All it takes is a little diligence and care. Not a big deal actually.

Gotcha. No harm in doing that. I’d do it more often if you find temps getting high with towing/overloaded/having oversized tires/etc. Clean bedsheets are nice.

It will go 300K at 10K OCI and 100K everything else. Don't you read the posts? You do you tho. Several here have ove 300K with normal maintenance.

I wash my bedsheets and take a bath once a month even if I don’t need to, but seriously changing the tranny fluid every 15K isn’t a bad thing it’s just excessive.

You could push that out to every 30k and still be doing it 3x more often than is recommended.

If you are being serious and not trolling, there are ways to let your OCD go. First, you must be aware that you have a problem.

Wow! Even the Car Care Nut who advocates maintenance earlier than Toyota recommendations says 6yr/60k. But hey, better err on too soon than too late. I’m in for the long haul as well.
