I've had a set of PIAA 520's behind the mesh grill of my 2015 Tacoma since almost new, it wasn't the first thing I did, but it was a fairly early on mod when I built my aux relay box and switch panel. However, I've never been impressed with the output. I get that the mesh is going to kill a good amount of the output, but compared to the Rigid D2s in the lower grill, and my Moromoto XBs, they're just for looks these days. With my high beams on, flipping on the PIAAs, I can't even notice a difference unless I'm parked right up against a wall. I even rewired them with heavy gauge wire and dropped in the best 100w halogen bulbs I could get my hands on. I experimented with a set of KC Gravity lights once upon a time, but I wasn't convinced the output was a big enough step up for the price. So I guess my ultimate question is - is there anything out there that is or looks like a round halogen off road light that actually compares to the good LED cubes and LED headlights out there these days that are worth actually using on top of what else I've got.
