This truck has very low miles. The price is right and it’s a 6 foot bed.
    It’s everything I wanted in a truck.
Problem is that I am extremely concerned about rust. It seems the trailer hitch was so rusty that it didn’t even work.

Toyota inspected the frame in April and gave it the okay per attached paperwork. Would you still consider this a buy coming from a rust state?

Looks good in pictures. Was this a daily driver? Having been through 9 NY winters worth of salt I would want to see the underside in person. Some people leave the draw bar in the receiver all the time and it will become stuck...

Salt and rust are hard at work when the vehicle is sitting in the driveway...

It has 60k miles so probably not a daily driver and I’m sure it did sit in the driveway. I have a video. No pictures. The problem is that it’s 4 hours away so I could see it in person, but at that point I’ve already committed to the whole day.
I’m trying to decide (as much as is possible) before driving out there.

It sounds like the receiver was stuck due to rust. Happens a lot. If you can get it out, you can use it. I would do my own visual inspection on the known rot spots and if it looks good then send it

Looks like it is out on Long Island. Get them to send you a bunch of photos of the underside. If it looks good chances are it’s not a rusted piece of Upstate junk unless they only drove it on the beach, but there’s not a ton of snow on LI so not a ton of salt. Of course it could have lived its life elsewhere. Get that info to get the story and connect the dots.

Be prepared to walk after seeing it in person.

Could very well be a daily driver being on Long Island with a short commute of perhaps 30 mi./day. If you work 200 days/yr X 30 mi/day = 6000 yr.
While it may have seen slightly less road salt being on the island, salty ocean air is not great either.

If you like what you see in the pictures I wouldn't hesitate to drive to see it. Buy it w/o seeing in person, not me thanks...

    Good Luck.
