This is just a quick post to review an aftermarket TPMS solution for anyone looking to get rid of the light on their dash without breaking the bank.

I had the TPMS light on for 5 years in my 06 and decided I wanted it to go away when replacing my tires this year. Reading through threads on here there was a ton of different stories of “this sensor works” or this one didn’t” or “this one required too much hassle.”

So here is a simple no nonsense solution for the masses.

    I bought through https://www.tpmsdirect.com/

I used the drop down menus and searched for my year/make/model/type of wheel (steel vs alloy).

Purchase price for 5 sensors (the 06 has one in the spare) was $99 before taxes and shipping.

These come pre programmed for the vehicle so the shop just had to install and relearn the sensors (entering the number on the TPMS sensor into the computer at the shop a simple process, but you have to have the expensive computer).

Now I have no light on and a functioning TPMS system.

So if you’re looking for no nonsense TPMS sensors these ones will work.

I used these and they should also fit your 2006

    Amazon.com: MORESENSOR Signature Series 315MHz TPMS Tire Pressure Sensor 4-Pack | Preprogrammed for Select 270+ Japanese Brand Models | Replacement for 42607-33011 | Snap-in | NX-S008-SN-4 : Automotive

Price has fluctuated over the years from $49-$79 for a set of 4.

You'll need to buy a 5th for your spare.

I ordered mine before buying new tires 2 years ago. Discount Tire didn't charge any extra to install and program them at the time I bought new tires. Since my spare was over 10 years old I had to pick up a used tire from another source and have the spare sensor replaced. I think another spare cost me $30 mounted and balanced.

I've used these on 3 different vehicles with good results. Zero issues and they are still working after 2-5 years.

What happens if you go into a place like Discount Tire for new tires and you say you don't want new TPMS sensors because the old ones work fine. Do they do the install and leave the old ones or say the work can't be done or what?
