Has anyone ever had the cruise control not work? Well, on my 2002 Tacoma is quit a couple years ago. I found the problem and again it quit this week. The first time I found that the 1157 tail light bulb contacts melted together causing the brake light to come on. This caused the cruise to not work. This week I found the bulb was black and I guess shorted internally. While driving I turned off the headlights and the cruise worked. Now, I knew the problem. A tech tip that may save a few gray hairs in trying to find the problem. This could be a problem on all vehicles the use a 2 contact taillight bulb.
