Pocket door on the R side. Because the other side of the jamb is 45. There are three pocket doors in this house and one pair of doors which smash each other in the Jack n Jill.

out of the frame is the double on the left wall, used to be a single but I had to marry 5 sets in that space so I swapped to double.

    I like doubles for plugs.

Oh, almost forgot, I recycled a segment for a receptacle next to the shower. Hah. My wife was not happy about it. I really like having power for clippers without needing extension cords. I guess I’m a little strange on that one.

is there a perimeter drain at the bottom of the existing window well ? If so I would consider installing Superseal dimpled foundation membrane to break any hydrostatic pressure

Plumbers, what’s the best next step? Add a 90 before the P trap? Right side is perfect, left side is too tight.

This is probably a better photo. Feels like I’m just not going to get there with brute force tactics.

another possibility is one of those offset straight pipes. That might give me adequate clearance.

You guys would go flexi before an extra 90? Or something like this?

These drains risk tons of nasty cause it’s the dog tub / laundry sink. Dunno if I like ribbed.

Cause my other idea is 90 forward or backward then the p trap off that. It’d be a lot of joints though and maybe turbulent flow wise.

I’ll hunt an offset and play. Tons of vertical.

Another option is maybe spacing it off the wall. It’s not early as deep as the washer next to it.

Or if you find a shorter/tighter P-trap loop?

those flexi pipes are hot garbage, and not recognized by any plumbing code as usable. the are thin walled and clog magnet
45 off the Tee and swing rotate the trap forward until it lines up
might need to extend the line for the leg pipe

I may try Lowe’s and see if the keeney is any closer.

Kinda looks more compact than Oatey.

There is nothing ok with that setup. Code does not allow for a sanitary T to be placed flat and this particular sanitary T is the wrong fitting for the application even if mounted vertically.

You need to go with a kitchen sink setup that looks like this
    Screenshot 2023-06-11 at 8.37.54 AM.png

The correct fitting looks like this
    Screenshot 2023-06-11 at 8.44.41 AM.png
It has to be installed vertically which in your case would be impossible without tearing into the wall and opening a huge can of worms. Don't ask me how I know :anonymous: Oh and for the love of the DIY gods DO NOT use one of those flexi drain pipes.

Could you point me towards code on not allowing a T in a horizontal position? I'd like to read up on that. Intuitively I wouldn't understand the problems with it, but I am in agreement after more research last night that it's just too big. You're just saying that any T cannot be used in a horizontal layout? What's the theory about that as a problem?

I ordered a different ABS T with built in slip which might be more compact.

I don't like the dual drain setup much (I have two sets of them) because it does a join up high and that specific T has reduced cross section per side at the T. I also don't love it because the exit point then becomes directly above the drain so I have an even worse problem jogging to the side to get a P trap in place. I would have to go with an offset dual sink setup to make it work, have the L feed across and over to the R then down and P trap back to center.

ETA: Think I found the relevant code:

    This was interesting to read.

Here is an example of the T vs drain w center output. Even tighter. Offset w vertical T is the only way to get it going. Which to me eliminates 90% of the benefit of dual drains but I guess that’s just how it’s done. Seems like dual traps would be superior in situations where space isn’t a concern.

    IMG_0906.jpg

I wasn’t sure from my reading if a T can be used at 45 degrees. I did see 45 degree slip fittings. But I don’t really see how a horizontal T poses an actual problem in this instance as it’s two drains from one sink so blowback from one side to the other is the same scenario as a clog on either side.

This is close enough to work, just need one extra piece.

You could use a double wye fitting and be within code. The problem with a sanitary t is it does not direct the water when placed flat. So, water from one trap will over flow into the other causing clogs over time.

I missed this picture the first time, but it looks like you could just trim the down pipes and everything should work. You could probably get a double wye to work there too.

This is the part I hadn’t found yet. Thanks for the photo. I will continue hunting. Nothing on the shelves that I could see. It’s called a wye?
