    Not a bit.

I don't leave anything valuable in the back, so it has never bothered me.

Bought mine new. 4 month wait. It’s decent though. Carpeted, power lock/unlock, etc. Branded as a “Bulldog” by Cap-It, but it’s a rebranded Leer.

Ordered mine new on 4/21, being installed tomorrow. ARE CX series with a headliner, dome light and 2 LED strips with a prop switch, and a tilt down front slider. $3k and 7 weeks, didn't want to wait till something popped up used for a long bed.

I've seen a few pop up recently I passed on.. the resellers want 2400 for a long bed without windoors, which I guess is fine but that is for cab height used camper. It might be worth buying new for an extra 1000 bucks and get what you want. I was quoted 3500 for mx with windoors. Although you still need to pay tax and install!

Hahahahhahaha exactly what I was thinking. Like it matters when ordering new….. I’ve seen a ton of used 6’ ones for sale. I’ll read more carefully from now on as not to get my pee pee slapped

sorry I tried to help and contribute.

I went to a well known topper dealer a few hours away from me, in Colorado, and had done my research so I knew what I wanted.
Snugtop Sport Hiliner is what I got. The SSM paint is a damn near match.

When I was looking for a topper I actually had the opposite issue of you. I found so many 6 feet ones that were in nice shape and they were asking way less $$$ of the 5 feet ones that were for sale. I rarely ever see any 5 feet ones and when I do they want to charge almost MSRP price.

yeah I almost went with one, but decided against it as I travel a lot and would like to have the peace of mind being able to camp in the back + hauling valuables whether it be my mountain bikes, surfboard, skis, or camper build out in general. Had old cars get broken into and just can’t justify throwing items with such high price tags in a soft topper that I can’t at least lock up. Otherwise it’d be a perfect and affordable alternative

Another thing you can do is watch market place for Tacomas for sale with canopies and offer to buy just the canopy. Most sellers are happy to make a few extra bucks. Also check with dealers.
