14" shock and 14" CO have different length even when both are supoosely 14" travel.

Shock make no difference on ride height, the left spring determine the height. Yes, 10/12 CO will bring the truck ride lower vs 14 CO.

If the springs are more flat, yes that will limit your uptravel as the shock body will probably contact first before the spring flatten out.

None of the specs on my truck matter for this kit/discussion, but it's a rock crawler first and foremost and setup for mostly down travel.

More droop. Why limit yourself to a 10" droop. IMO, that defeat the purpose of linking. If 10" is the end goal you can spend way less money on a leaf spring setup and have a similar performance. The headache to rebuilding the CO or heim or downtime in the long term is not worth it vs leaf.

This is a comparison of Fox 2.5x10 and fox 2.5x14.

~10" travel difference. Why go with 30 extended on 10" when 14" gives you 38.5 extended?

I thought you knew it was just preference and curious why. No limitation just because it’s linked not leafs. Could use a 2” coilover if you want.

Correct. But I rather maximize at 38.5 vs 30 :D

Unless you mount the 14”s lower on the axle or further into the engine bay

Plus, price between the 10" and 14" is not a day and night difference. Maybe 2 hundred buck if that?

Why buy a 10 with the possibility of buying again on the future. Same concept with tires, why buy 35" tire for a SA tacoma when you will buy 37 in a year or so. Seen that happen all the time.

Or that.... on link, placement makes a difference. No so much on shock for leaf.

I can think of a couple different reasons to justify bigger travel numbers and you went with no reason other than internet points. Cool starry bra.

There's a ton of reason. I mention why IMO 14 should be the magic number for link, that was all.

    Each to their own.
    You want leaf, great.
    You want link, great.

    Still waiting for your reasons.

I never said anything about leaves or links either.
