It sounds like the most cost effective way to change gearing and add lockers or torsons. Just wasn't feasible for myself being in Canada and sending the core back.

If you have access to a trans jack it makes dropping and reinstalling the clamshell pretty trouble free.

Parts backlogs are ridiculous for a lot of us now. The wants for mods is exceeding the ability to get them installed.

yah its not too bad your skilled enough to do it. there are tricks to pulling the axles so you do not have to disconnect the brake lines by pulling out all the way and save bleeding the brakes. If you have to do that then it becomes a longer process.

Also you only have the rear to do so easy peasy.

he has no front so does not even have to worry about the front. Super easy. I like ECGS for the 5 year warranty. I just had my rear replaced or the second time. Hence I have gotten good and rip and replace but def helped cost wise.

My next plan now is to look into a bigger rear end with a Ford9 or Tundra Rear in hopes to never have to do it again or not as often.

    I'm terrible at updating/documenting.

Cleaned up my underhood bird's nest wiring using a 5-relay 10-fuse Bussman RTMR made by @Sandman614. Dual circuit breaker. One to the RTMR and the other is isolated for my audio system. Had to relocate my oil catch can for the power tray to fit with the aluminum coolant swirl pot.

Also sold my factory Gen2 skid plate and upgraded to a Gen3 Lostar "TRD Pro" imposter skid plate. It a little "shorter" and has a more hidden/low profile look. I totally prefer it for the Gen2.5 conversion.

Darn...so I called ECGS and reconfirmed no truetrac for 8" elockers. Just a gear swap now, I guess.

That's a bummer. You were planning on changing the locker for a Truetrac? Think rear diff/axle swap is your only option unfortunately as you probably just found out.

    Update: Crap Reduction

Swapped in some Diode Dynamics SSC2s with smoked lens covers... in place of the crappy ebay 6" yellow led bars.

And also swapped in my Rigid 30" single row Midnight Edition led bar....in place of the single row crappy ebay 30" yellow led bar.

I was hoping too. And yeah, swapping it all out to a 8.4" would be one of the only options and one that I doubt I'll be taking.

You would have to delete the e-locker, then modify the housing to accept an 88'-02 4runner V6 diff, which you could install an e-locker in.

The axle is what you need your opening to look like / stud locations (hidden behind gasket). the gasket is what your axle housing currently is configured. it would be quite a bit of work to retrofit.
    elocker007_0b809d36c9c7f690dcb987007d191f56af707ad0.jpg

It would be easier to switch to a non-elocker axle, and add a truetrac.

What da ! Passenger side Mori has a section that's dim/out. I'm the original purchaser with receipt and it's covered by a 7year warranty. Let's see how the replacement process plays out.
